Mylee Billingham

aged 8 (January 19th 2018)
Murdered by her father on the 20th January 2018.  There isn't much news about the incident as yet. It's about Mylee Billingham, aged 8. She was stabbed by her father at home in Brownhills, West Midlands. The story so far:

West Midlands Police officers were called to the bungalow at around 9.15pm on Saturday where the eight-year-old girl was found with serious injuries.

Mylee Billingham was rushed to hospital after police discovered her seriously injured at an address in Valley View.

The youngster, described as an Ed Sheeran superfan by the Daily Mirror, later died in hospital.

A 54-year-old man has been arrested and has been treated in hospital for a stab wound to his stomach.

He is now in a stable condition and will be questioned in due course.

Beth Taundry, a relative of the little girl, said on social media: "Don't bombard anyone with messages, I know that people will want to pass on their condolences.

"We are far too hurt and far too confused right now to deal with logging onto social media and seeing some of the gossip that people in this area are writing.

"Although on behalf of our family I do want to thank everybody for their concern and the general messages hoping all is okay.

"The least everyone can do is keep us in your thoughts."

The murder occured an hour after this photo was taken and posted on social media.

Woman heard shouting 'he stabbed my baby' after girl, 8, killed at Brownhills bungalow

This is the final photo of tragic Mylee , posted on Facebook just over an hour before she was stabbed to death.

The poignant picture appeared on Facebook at 8.16pm on Saturday, says the Daily Mirror.

In the image, Mylee smiles at the camera as she sits in her pyjamas in a double bed, with two plates of pizza in front of her.

Graham Greatrex, who lives a few doors along, said: "I came back and all the police cars were here and there was a lady here saying 'he's stabbed my baby'.

"She was standing on the street outside my house and I offered her a hot drink.

"It had been cordoned off with police cars and ambulances and she had been over the other side of the street before being led over to outside my house.

"She was hysterical. It wasn't long after that they announced that they had taken the girl to the Children's Hospital."

Mr Greatrex, 74, said he believed the woman to be the mother of the eight-year-old.

He added: "The lady who lived in the bungalow she died not long ago and it had been redecorated. It had only been let back out a short time."

Another resident, who did not stop to give his name, said his partner had tried to comfort the mother after the stabbing.

He said:" My other half heard the commotion and came out to find out what was going on.

"She was with the mum in the back of the ambulance. It's a shock, you don't hear of this type of thing happening around here.

"It's terrible. I didn't know the man who lived there. I have seen him round Brownhills but I didn't know him personally."

Bob Weir, 72, said: "I'm shocked and stunned. The first I heard of it was around 9pm last night.

"The street was like something out of an American cop film, it was full of emergency services with flashing lights.

"The police knocked on my door and asked if I had heard anything from the house where it happened."

Mr Weir added: "I had seen the man who lived there and spoken to him but I didn't know his name. I had never seen a girl there.

"The bungalows are owned by Walsall Housing Group and it is normally a pretty quiet area."

David Taylor, who lives opposite the bungalow, said: ” I heard some noise last night and the first thing I thought it was someone come round the back to try and steal my scooter.

“It was the ambulances and police turning up in the street.

"I had only seen the man who lives there three times."

What did police say?

Flowers have been left at the scene, as police conduct house-to-house enquiries.

Detective Inspector Jim Colclough, from the homicide unit, said: “We are treating this as a domestic incident and are not looking for anyone else in connection with the child’s death.

“Our family liaison team are supporting the family of the little girl, who are naturally devastated by her death. Our thoughts remain with them."

That's all there is at this time. I will add more as it unfolds.
